Ms. Nanae Fijiwara is a spectacular performer celebrated for her impressive technique and expressive performance of the Spanish Classical Guitar repertoire. Once a student of guitar legends Pepe Romero, Manuel Barrueco, the Assad Brothers, and David Russell, Nanae reflects the best of a tradition. She is an accomplished guitarist with a rare gift for engaging the public and has more than 28,000 followers on Instagram.

Born in Japan, Nanae lived between Chicago and Okayama throughout her childhood and began learning the guitar at 15. Nanae earned her associate degree in Music from Harper College where she began her study of Classical Guitar. She graduated from Northeastern with a B.A. in Classical Guitar Performance and earned her Master’s in Classical Guitar Performance in Spain from the University of Alicante in 2016.

Ms. Fujiwara was scheduled to perform for the first time at the 2020 Greater Kansas City Japan Festival in person. But now many will be able to enjoy her performance through this video.
